I’ve already started the tech design work for DAP v3.3 & LiveLinks 0.7.
So here’s your chance to tell me what you think should be in the next version. Enter your feature-request below as a comment.
Also, I wish to use this post to get some feedback and ideas from you about certain features I have planned for DAP.
Here’s a feature to get started.
1) Product Chaining:
Basic premise: You will be able to configure something like this…
Upon Member ADD To Product A, ADD To Product B
Upon Member ADD To Product A, REMOVE From Product B
Upon Member REMOVE From Product A, ADD To Product B
Upon Member REMOVE From Product A, REMOVE From Product B
Basically, using a easy-to-use UI, you will be able to configure any permutation/combination of the above.
So what else can you think of along these lines, for this “Product Chaining” feature?
Also feel free to add any other feature ideas you may have in the “comments” section below.
Appreciate your feedback.
Thanks!
- Ravi
[UPDATE]
I will list items from my own list as well as suggested features/ideas below:
- Product-Chaining
- OTO’s
- Each “Product” to have it’s own “Double-Optin”, “Thank You Email”, etc – instead of having just one global setting.

For DIRECT SIGNUP HTML: Please allow for selection of desired fields to be included in the Direct Signup HTML. The limitation of Firstname and E-mail at signup relies on the new member to fill in the rest of their info later, after they log in. Most do not complete their data fields.
USERS: Manage – For search pages, include a tally of total records found, and include the number of pages of found records.
USERS: ADD – Include all the profile fields on the ADD USER form.
Love the new Earnings Report by Product:
Please add a Quantity field so we can know how many of a given product were sold.
Thanks.
I like what you are proposing under “Product chaining” but I don’t see any difference between line 1 and line 2 of the Basic premise. Am I missing something?
Steve
Steve,
Sorry, that was a typo
I fixed it above.

Ravi,
Sounds GREAT! You said any combination of the above would be possible, so you’ve probably already thought of this, but if someone could be REMOVED from a product when they are ADDED to another product, that would be great. That might seem counter intuitive – to remove access to a product – but the idea is similar to triggers that you find in some autoresponders.
We have a free giveaway
- Product A/Autoresponder A.
- The autoresponder pitches product B.
- When someone purchases product B, they get access to:
-Product A, Product B, and Autoresponder B.
—so if we could remove them from Product A/Autoresponder A we could spare them repeated pitches for a product (product B) that they’ve already purchased.
This would be a great feature! Good work as always!
Josh,
Yes, that scenario is in the example above:
“Upon Member ADD To Product A, REMOVE From Product B”
So you’re covered
Thanks for the feedback.

I’d also like to offer folks a specific upgrade offer page upon log-in depending on the product they currently have. Product A owners are offered product B or C, product B owners are offered product C, and so on.
Now say I have Product A which is a free version of Product B (paid upgrade). Mr. Prospect has been going along using the free version for a few weeks and decides to get the upgrade. Can you make it so it drops them off right where they were? So if they were in week 3, they’d be able to see everything up until week 3, but no further. It seems like what we are talking about here is variations of Product A (Product A Version 1 [free partial post], Product A Version 2 [paid full post/no videos], Product A Version 3 [paid full post with videos]… I’m guessing they’d be different products on different pages, but they would appear to be 1 product that could be seamlessly upgraded from where ever the client is. Does that make sense?
Fern,
That’s a brilliant twist to the Product Chain concept. I will try to make it configurable such that you can choose where they join – at the start or as-they-were.

Ability to delete emails from a product?
Tom,
>>Ability to delete emails from a product?
This already exists. Just go to the specific Product, scroll down to the “Email Autoresponder” section, and hit the “x” mark next to the email in question.

A couple feature ideas – don’t know if they are even possible or practical but I thought I’d lay it them there and see what happens:
1. For FREE signups – would it be possible for users to choose their own password (via the free signup html code)? – reason being – this would help eliminate the instances when users sign up for (in our case) the free front-end offer but don’t receive or can’t find the email, so they never consume the material.
2. Could Aweber (or other 3rd party autoresponder) integration occur on a product-by-product basis? This would – I think – help combine DAP’s unmatched List Segmenting capabilities with Aweber’s higher delivery rates.
Thanks! DAP is amazing!
Nice features you could add:
1)In the product creation process insert a field called “product image”. The selected picture will be displayed in the homepage for every product together with product name, product description, date and links.
2)This is big. In the individual post/pages edit popup box i would like to have the ability to choose not only if the page will be displayed or not in the homepage but also in a specific page or sidebar.
For example lets say you have lots of products in the home page. Leaving all the content in the homepage could produce a big mess of links and text.
If you have the option to choose where to display individual post/pages you could leave only the first link in the homepage and then having the content dripping in the sidebar of the product for example or in the product page.
I hope my explanation is clear enough
Thanks
