We’ve got some really *awesome* stuff coming out in DAP v3.8 & LiveLinks v1.3…
- [NEW] Product Chaining
- [NEW] When you add a blog post/page to a Product, it retrieves the post/page’s title, and the page title is what your member will see in the “Links” section of a product.
- [NEW] (New Config Field) SECRET_KEY : Secret Authorization Key used when interfacing with external systems
- [NEW] (New Config Field) SHOW_COMMENTS: Show comments on protected WP content?
- [NEW] (New Config Field) DEFAULT_AFF_LANDING: URL of default landing page for Affiliate links (when not redirected). Default: / (home page)
- [NEW] DAP will no longer allows deliberate or unintentional deletion of admin users. You must change their account type to “User” first before you can delete the user.
- [NEW] Display of User Links (sorting order): Within a given day, if you have multiple links dripping (say, on day 1 itself you have multiple links), then they will show up on the “User links” page in the exact same order in which it shows up on the Products page.
- [NEW] Warning presented and asks for confirmation when you click on “Delete Product” (even though DAP already won’t delete a product if there is even 1 user associated with a Product. Just another confirmation in addition to what was there before).
- [NEW] DAP Logs displays only 1000 rows now
- [NEW] URL field length increased from 100 to 200
- [FIXED] LiveLinks: It seems the first name and other merge tags work, but the last name merge tag isn’t functional.
- [FIXED] Removed “http://” from second link in affiliate “redirection” link

Hi Veena,
I have a product I am going to market in clickbank. There will be some free content to get people to register as free members. The goal of course is to get free members to join the paid area.
Is there a way to link the free members to the referring clickbank affiliate ID so if and when they do upgrade from free to paid the clickbank affiliate promoting the site gets the credit and commission?

I have a request for the next version of DAP regarding integration with ‘Forum Server’ – WordPress forum software (‘VastHtml’ version).
Here’s what’s happening: DAP is setting up WordPress to create a Display_Name on the forum consisting of user’s
First_Name + Last_Name.
Is there any possibility that this could be changed to First_Name + 1st character of Last_Name?
I’m also encountering a bug – don’t know what’s causing it but I keep finding myself logged out of WordPress and having to log back in again. It happens so often I’m wondering if I’m being accidentally logged out by my users logging in through DAP. Anyone else had the same experience? If my users are also inadvertently getting logged out of WordPress it’s a problem as they have no access to the WordPress interface in order to log back in again. (Once logged out of WordPress, logging in through DAP won’t work). If that happens they will find themselves being called ‘Guest’ when arriving to use the forum and being asked to register as a WordPress user. Confusing for them as they should not be seeing any of that stuff and may end up creating a second registration.
Anyone else getting this problem?
On the DAP Dashboard – please include a SIGN-OUT feature.
Problem I find is – there is no way to exit the Dashboard except to turn off (click on x to exit) the window or computer.
Then to Sign-In next time there is a real problem … when I try to use a different computer.
Perhaps in V3.7 one computer seems to hold a cookie or whatever that prevents another computer from being able to Sign-In

I have a request for the next version, any chance on updating the product creation section. I would love to a more user friendly browsing and adding of content.
Plus it would be great to have bulk edit features to items that are already in the product. Basically have a page where I can see all the fields in the edit link and bulk change them. I may not want to have all the links visible to the user and only the main links to make it easier to read. But they still have access to the content, but I create links on the posts that they have access to. Rather than one long list. I hope that makes sense. It is just an example.

Yes, folder protection is on the top of the list. If things go as per plan, we might even include it in DAP 3.8.
The current plan is keep it simple for the first release.
Here’s how it will work:
In the DAP products page where you browse and protect individual files, you will have an option to select the entire folder. If you protect the folder, DAP will automatically protect all the files under the folder (sub-folders included).
If you have already protected a folder and later on add more files to the folder, you will have to back and protect the entire folder again. But in the next upgrade of folder protection, we will automate that also so no manual action will be required.

You can click on MyAccounts in the admin dashboard and then click on the logout link at the top to sign-out.
But agreed that it will be easier if it is included along with the other menu items in the main dashboard. We will include this in DAP 3.9.

I presume you are talking about the Paypal Payments Pro upsell tree plugin. You probably still have the older version of the plugin. In DAP 3.7, the generate button will not allow you to generate button code if the product description exceeds the Paypal limit.
Would like to see user login tracking where it displays the date and time a user last logged into the system.
Would also like to see a view tracker where users can check a box next to a link so next time they log in they know what content they have read and or task completed. A favorite feature for the user would be nice too.
you guys need to allow html to be used in the broadcast email box…i just sent out an email and the html was visible…oddly enough…the “http” was a clickable link…lol
I would like to see forum protection enabled in DAP 3.9:
1)If user is not a member and try to reach the forum will see the error non logged in
2)If user is a free member and forum is only for paid members will see the error logged in

Interested in the status of vBulletin integration which has been listed as coming soon for a while now and I thought was going to be included in 3.8 but don’t see it on the list of coming new features. Does that mean it has been pushed back again? Would like to know because I’m about to launch a site and will just move on with an alternative forum rather than continue to wait if it will not be part of the 3.8 update. Thanks.
Several things would be most helpful.
1) Allow for more tags and filters in the email broadcaster. Anything in the user record or affiliated product fields should be useable as a merge field or as a filter in sending emails.
2) Update the user profile with all fields from clickbank. Presently new users and even those that exist only as first name and email address, only import their first name, optional last name and email. If my user has valid entries in the address, city, state, phone, etc. fields when making their purchase, those fields should update the user’s profile record.
3)Allow for specifying on a per-post or per-page basis what content is free and what is not. Tags within the post should allow us to limit the preview content and even if the content shows up as a page or post within the menu structure.
4) There is some sort of bug in editing user information. I find that many times after I update a user from unconfirmed to active status, my WP user account changes to that users account instead of my administrator account. I have to then log out of DAP and WP and log back in. There must be some cookie or session variable being revised when we administer users that should not be when it is done by and adminstrative user.

With a lot of users and not having a space to capture my users surname’s, it’s pointless for me to have a search by surname.

The forum will be viewable publicly. That’s not something DAP can prevent.
If you remove the forum registration form and allow single-entry point to the forum via DAP login, then DAP can prevent non-members from posting to the forum.
You need to look for a forum plugin that allows administrator to set forum(s) as private and force users to login before they can even view the form.
I know bbpress allows you to activate external plugins that can do this for you.

We had to push vBulletin integration to 3.9 (mid June release). It will certainly be part of DAP 3.9.
about the sneak peak I would like a better option instead of turning the sneak peak on all posts and I have to go all over putting more tag for each post i created before, why not create a special tag that will unprotected a special area for the protected posted
say [sneak] [/sneak] for example

No, DAP cannot restrict gold members to gold topics and silver to silver topics, but we plan on implementing this when we integrate DAP -> VBulletin. This will be likely be part of dap 3.9.

One thing that I’d love is if on the LiveLinks page, users could see when access to dripped content is scheduled to expire for them. (With the option of using the “end date” or “# of days remaining.” That would be great!
Also, if that same feature could somehow be used as a %%function%% in email content so I can drip email alerts to my user-members on the availability of content.

Hi, I would love to see 3 esentials! That think they are missing.
1.- Be able to save or take a look at the Broadcast emails sent.
2.- Be able to send html mails, just copi the html code in the email box.
3.- The filter to send broadcasts doesnt allow me to send ONLY TO PAID costumers.

For me, one of the most BASIC omissions is having no anti-spam captcha in the direct sign-up html. I am getting a lot of spam registrations and my email address has been getting on a lot more spammers lists as a result.
It’s pretty easy to add the captcha capability to the direct sign-up by using the cformsII plugin.
I posted this in another thread a while back so it might already be on the short list, but would love to see these in 3.9

We just completed the integration of DAP with CB via the Instant Notification Services. DAP will no longer have to wait on the CB email receipts and parse the emails to create membership records.
This new integration technique is in the beta phase now and will be part of DAP 3.9.
The great thing about approach is that you no longer have to worry about CB email format changing or some of the foreign currencies not getting processed by DAP. This approach also allows instant processing of payment notification rather than wait upto 10 minutes for email processing cron to complete.
As far as sneak peak option per-post or per-page basis is concerned, as I mentioned earlier, it’s on our list to-do and hopefully it will be part of DAP 3.9 or 4.0.
