Just wanted to let you know that DAP now works with 2Checkout.com.
The new file is dap-2co.php and it has been rolled into the existing dap_v4.2.1.zip file, and is available for download in the member's area (if you already are on 4.2.1, you will have to download the zip file again, sorry!
It has been live since 09/15/2011 actually – we preferred doing a silent launch to make sure no other issues are reported, before we officially announced it.
So DAP 4.2.1 is stable and production- ("live-site") worthy.
Go ahead and download both DAP v4.2.1 and LiveLinks v1.7 from the member's area and upload to your site.
If you are already on DAP v4.2.1, then no further action is required, unless you want the PWC integration script, in which case you'll need to download dap_v4.2.1.zip again, and inside you'll find dap-pwc.php in the main dap folder.
If you are running 4.2 or earlier version of DAP, we urge you to upgrade your DAP installation to the newest version of DAP (v4.2.1) and LiveLinks (v1.7)
Here's how you can get a free copy of DAP (1-site license) to use for yourself, or to give-away to any of your friends, customers or list members… (one day only)
Or you may instead opt for a free 1-year extension of support & upgrades on your current license (a $120 value). You can get an extension on any license you own – whether it's a 1-site license, Unlimited-site license, or Membership-Site-In-A-Box license.
Mike Filsaime's Butterfly Marketing was a key influencer in our vision for DAP to include an affiliate program right from the very beginning – and that very feature has really helped us distinguish ourselves from other competitors.
And Mike, now a good friend – and one of the good guys in the industry – is on the final day of launching a very cool script that lets you do automated webinars.
This thing is REALLY loaded….
Automated Webinars
Performance metrics
Webinar replay page
SMS notifications for attendees
Delayed events, polls, live chat
No monthly fees
One time purchase, with Lifetime Support & Lifetime Updates (launch bonus)
Free tickets to live event (launch bonus)
Believe it or not, we were seriously thinking, barely a few months ago, about creating a script in the automated webinars niche, but Mike beat us to the punch .
We may still come out with a similar script some day, but for now, gotta recommend Mike's solution, because he's one of the few really techie marketers around, who understands technology, and can also afford the infrastructure to support such techie products, and because the solution is here, n-o-w!
And to show our support for Mike, who so kindly gave us a testimonial for DAP (it is plastered on the front page at digitalaccesspass.com) as soon as we asked, we have decided to give away a free 1-site license of DAP to anyone who buys through our affiliate link below.
All you have to do is buy through our link (we get compensated, of course!) and then forward us your receipt, and once we confirm your purchase, we will give you a FREE 1-site license in your name, or in the name of anyone you nominate (could be your favorite customer, friend, affiliate, or a list member. Heck, you could even create some kind of a contest and then give us the name of the winner!). Or you could instead get a free 1-year extension of support & upgrades on your own current license.
But the launch is ending in less than a day (sorry about the last minute notification – we just got back from an awesome vacation and just found out about this).
P.S: You already know that we rarely promote third-party products to our users, and even when we do, we have never, ever offered a DAP license for free till date. This only goes to show you how much we believe in Mike's products. So check it out regardless – the worst that can happen is that you may experience a big "Aha!" moment
P.P.S: Obvious disclaimer: If you buy Mike's script, you must stay past the refund period (duh!). If not, your free license (or 1-year extension) will be negated.
<UPDATE on 07/01/2011>
DAP v4.2 Beta has just been released, and is now available for download from the members' area. </UPDATE>
Don't forget to watch in "Full Screen" mode
Ok, so did you see all of the amazing new 4.2 features in the above video? Very cool, eh?
Anyway, here's why things have been kinda quiet in the DAP world…
DAP v4.1 Is Final
DAP v4.1 is now officially "Final". It has been very stable for over a month now, but we were just holding ground in case any bugs get reported. So unless you've downloaded DAP in the last couple of weeks. better to re-download DAP v4.1 and LiveLinks v1.6 again, and upload them to your site. (Upgrading Your DAP Installation)
DAP v4.2 Is Coming Soon Now Here!
In less than 2 weeks, actually.
And here are all the features that are included…
[NEW] Shopping Cart "Check Out Page" can now be placed right inside WordPress pages using new merge code %%DAPCART%% , thus taking on the instant look & feel of your WordPress theme!
[NEW] Custom Fields (Hooray!): Admin can create new custom fields inside DAP
[NEW] Ability to customize shopping cart options: Like "Where did you hear about us", "Additional Comments", "Terms & Conditions", etc – on the DAP Cart's Checkout page
[NEW] Ability to include and customize Product-level Cart header & Cart footer HTML
[NEW] Complete redesign of the Products page. Now has a tab-based – so basically, the long Products page has now been chopped up into multiple, shorter tabs. The form has also been redesigned to make the Product setup a lot more intuitive and simple
[NEW] Improvements to "ContentResponder" section: DAP will now highlight (actually, down-play with a dull gray color) all of the blog posts/pages that have already been added to the product being viewed, so you can clearly see which ones are not protected.
[NEW] Dedicated Buy Button "Generator" Page
[NEW] Fully re-designed Config page – now you change multiple config items in one go, and click "Update" just once. Better description of fields, better organization of logical groups of configs, etc.
[NEW] "Help Tips" and "Tool Tips" added to many pages, making things much easier to understand
[NEW] Cleaner-looking forms and buttons in the DAP Dashboard
[NEW] "First Name" now part of User Search Criteria
[NEW] Improved Pagination on Users > Manage page. Eg., when you're on page 4 of the users list, and you take any action on any user on that page, previously DAP used to reset the user search back to Page 1. Now it's been fixed so that it will stay on same page.
[NEW] Improved "Pop Up" locations: Previously, popups for "Modify Dates" or "Add Affiliate" used to show up all the way on top of the page regardless of how far down you've scrolled on the Users page. Now, the popups will show right next to the clicked link.
[NEW] Personalized RSS Feed Links: Each of your members will now get their own custom RSS feed link, which they can then enter into their favorite feed reader, like Google Reader or iTunes, and the feed will be customized with only the content that they're eligible to view
[NEW] Coupons support for Authorize.net
[NEW] * "Add To Cart" Support for Authorize.net (and possibly Payments Pro too): Which means if you're using the DAP cart & Auth.net, your members will be able to buy multiple products in one purchase
[FIX] Change to DAP Shortcodes to remove empty breaks and paragraphs when hiding protected content
[FIX] "Missing spaces from error and notification browser messages" issue fixed
On top of that, there are so many other little tweaks and improvements, that don't merit a mention in the above list, but will make your DAP experience a much smoother one.
Well, that's about it as far as 4.2 is concerned.
As always, don't forget to add your comments below.
And we've added some very cool new features to this release. So let's get right to the big story…
Self-Service Store (SSS)
This is our big "Magnum Opus" – our "Summer Blockbuster" – released early!!
This is our "Pièce de résistance", our "Coup d'état", our "Tour de force", our "Chef-d'oeu·vre"… (ok, ok, stopping… running out of hyperbole anyway)
But that's how excited we are about this!!! Enough to put 3 exclamation marks in a row!!!
The Self-Service Store (SSS) plugin is a very cool new plugin, that allows you to give "Credits" to your buyers (of a "Master" product), which they can then "Redeem" towards various "Child" Products. It's practically "Content On Demand".
Instead of you dripping content on them in a pre-determined fashion, they choose the modules they want, and the order in which they want them. You just give them the credits, put the power of choice at their fingertips, and get out of the way . Awesome stuff (video further below).
Please note that SSS will only work with 4.1 and above.
DAP now integrates with MailChimp. At a Product level, you can choose if buyers of that Product get added to your MailChimp list. DAP will also "remove" them from your MailChimp list if their access to the Product is removed within DAP.
Internationalization
Hola! Ce qui est très cool ("this is very cool" – in French, no less!).
DAP goes global!
No, we don't mean people from around the world buying DAP – that they already do. We're talking about the new ability to customize the few "Member-Facing" pages in DAP – like "My Content", "My Profile" and "My Affiliate Info" pages – in any non-English language of your choice. We tested with many languages – like Spanish, Dutch, French, and even Chinese! Others will/should work too – as long the language characters are UTF-8 based.
WordPress is already "international" friendly, so we're excited to be able to help membership site creation in multiple languages. And what's really cool, is that you can now also send Autoresponder & Broadcast emails in all of these languages (the last time we checked, even the big-boys like Aweber don't let you do that!).
Admin & Affiliate Reports
There are a few new useful Admin & Affiliate reports.
Admin: On the DAP Admin home page, you will see a few new reports, and enhancements to existing reports. The new "Member Summary" report will show you how many paid users, free users, admin-added and expired users there are. It also gives you a per-Product break-down of these same numbers. And on top of that, you can use the date range to further filter results.
There's also a new "View Performance Summary" report (default report that runs when you visit the "Affiliates > Run Reports" page) that gives you more information for each affiliate – like Clicks generated, Leads, Sales and even Earnings-Per-Click (EPC).
Affiliate: The same affiliate report above is now available to each of your affiliates too. On their affiliate page, they can now see a new table that lists their Clicks, Leads, Sales and EPC.
IPN Script Generator For Developers
DAP now supports the ability to quickly develop support for any 3rd party shopping cart providers that support IPN notification (via HTTP POST) to 3rd party scripts. The DAP admin will have the ability to generate an IPN Script for any 3rd-party shopping cart that support IPN.
And once the script is generated, you simply upload it to the "dap" folder on your site and update the shopping cart IPN URL settings with the URL of this new script.
New DAP ShortCode Feature
You can now use the DAP ShortCode framework to NOT SHOW a part of your post or page, to anyone WHO IS LOGGED IN.
So, say you wanted your "Sales Copy" and your "Buy Button" to be shown only to visitors, but NOT BE SHOWN to those who are already members, then you can do this.
DAP Plugin Framework
We've created a new "Plugin Framework" for DAP, that developers (and we ourselves) can use to quickly add plugins (even a few-line scripts) to DAP, in order to integrate with other 3rd-party scripts. For example, on a new user-add, you want DAP to pass the member info to a 3rd-party script or application that you are using in addition to DAP. It's not yet as slick as the WordPress plugin framework, but we'll certainly get there sooner than later. In fact, the MailChimp integration is our very first plugin to use this framework.
Miscellaneous Additions
We have a couple of features planned – like one password-generation related feature – which we're going to add to this release before it goes final (a 4.1.1, if you will).
Dog Food v4.1
Yup, we always eat our own dog-food. So we've actually gone ahead and installed v4.1 Beta on this very site – DigitalAccessPass.com . So when you log in to the member's area, you will now see the new "Affiliate Performance Report" that we mentioned above.
The SSS plugin (in its primitive original version from years ago) has always been sold separately. And it will continue to be sold separately.
And once we add the avatar-the-mind-bender-type features to this plugin over the next couple of releases, the price is going to go up – way up.
DAP Affiliates: Get Busy!
If you're already a DAP user, then this is THE perfect time to promote DAP.
The last time we offered SSS for free, many of our affiliates made a killing. There's no better bonus for DAP than a real, usable, useful, powerful plugin like SSS.
DAP v4.0 is out of beta and is now in "Final" (production) release.
We haven't updated the files in a couple of weeks. But if you have previously installed v4.0 beta, then for what it's worth, it's better that you simply re-upload all of the files once again, just to be sure you have the very latest files.
Or you could simply wait for v4.1 beta that's going to be coming out soon
4.1 is going to be HUGE, as always (has any release DAP release ever been, like, "SMALL"? Of course not!
But kidding aside, it is going to be a very big and important milestone for DAP. You'll see why when we share more details here shortly.
UPDATE: The cart service was back within a couple of hours after posting this. So everything's back to normal.
Folks,
The 3rd party shopping cart service we use – 1SiteAutomation.com – which is a private label of 1ShoppingCart (1SC) – is temporarily down today.
So until they get their service up and running again, you will be unable to use our regular cart to purchase DAP.
Please note that DAP itself is up and running. So if you wish to purchase DAP in the mean time, you can pay us via Paypal, to our Paypal id dap_AT_digitalaccesspass.com (do replace the text "_AT_" with "@", but you already knew that .
Will keep you posted about the shopping cart situation.
Our dear Co-founder Veena Prashanth turns XX years old today (Jan 28th) (You know, that thing about a woman's age? Yeah, "don't ask, don't tell" is the way to go )
She's the heart & soul behind DAP, and the biggest reason behind DAP's success (I'm just the good-lookin', smooth-talkin' dude taking all the credit
At the time of writing this, she doesn't know that I'm doing this. This is going to be the biggest "virtual surprise party" ever, woohoo!
So join me in wishing Veena a very happy birthday.
This is a rocking new feature that will allow you to have "Dime Sales". Basically, a "Dime Sale" is where you configure the price to go up every "X" sales. We've taken this one step further, and allowed you to hike up the price every "Y" days too! And of course, the price hike is not restricted to just "dimes" (10 cents).
UPDATE 2: Custom "Thank-you Redirect URL" for Paypal Button
When you use the new built-in Paypal buy-button generator, you now have the ability to redirect the buyer to any thank-you page URL after successful purchase. In the first update, this was hard-coded into the button and you had no control over it. Now, thanks to a new Config item, you can set the URL to which user is redirected AFTER Login-Xpress happens. So "Login Xpress" will still happen, and user is automatically "logged in" to their members area right after purchase. But now, you just have the added ability to redirect them to a custom URL, after they've been logged in. This new config setting will over-ride both the Product-level and the Global Config-level "Logged-In URL" fields.
UPDATE 3: Multi-site Auth.net Support
Authorize.net has only one account-level "IPN" url. It's called the "Silent POST URL". Unfortunately, they have provided a way to specify only one such URL within your Authorize.net account. So we have included a very cool work-around for this. This new custom url will allow you to specify which Silent Post URL to redirect the Auth.net silent post to. Which means, one Authorize.net account can now be used by multiple DAP-powered and even non-DAP web sites, thanks to our awesome "hack"
UPDATE 4: In-Page Dripping
We've updated the new DAP Shortcode framework to include the ability to specify a "Day" right within the shortcode itself. So you don't have to use the DAP Products page just for specifying the dripping. You can now simply specify the dripping "Day" as a parameter in the DAP shortcode itself.
Which leads us to an extremely powerful new benefit: "In-Page Dripping".
So you can now publish, say, 10 videos on one page, and you can enclose each video's embed code with a separate DAP Shortcode that has a different "Day" setting, so the very same page will show 1 video on Day 1, 2 videos on Day 2, 3 videos on Day 3, and so on.
You don't have to create multiple pages/posts just to drip multiple pieces of content. All of the content can now be dripped within just one "download" page, like this:
[DAP day="1" hasAccessTo="1" isPaidUser="Y" ] VIDEO 1 CODE [/DAP]
[DAP day="2" hasAccessTo="1" isPaidUser="Y" ] VIDEO 2 CODE [/DAP]
[DAP day="3" hasAccessTo="1" isPaidUser="Y" ] VIDEO 3 CODE [/DAP]
UPDATE 5: "For Your Eyes Only": User-specific Custom Content Dripping
Let's say you run a coaching program. You have 10 clients. You want to provide custom reports to your clients, and you want to publish those client-specific videos or PDF reports on your blog, and you want only those specific clients to see content that is meant for them. And you want to drip the content.
So you want Joe Customer to see a tailor-made custom video meant only for Joe, and Jill Member to see a specific PDF report written specifically for Jill's business.
Now using the new "userId" parameter in the DAP shortcode, you can now protect a piece of content so that only a specific DAP user can see it.
Previously, if you wanted to do this, you had to create a separate product for each client, and add the content meant for them, to the Product meant for them. Not so any more. If you want to create a video specifically for Jill Member (whose DAP Userid is, say, 35), then simply create a page called "JillMember" and then put the video embed code for Jill's video into that page, and then wrap it with the DAP shortcode, like this:
[DAP day="1" hasAccessTo="1" isPaidUser="Y" userId="35"] JILL VIDEO EMBED CODE [/DAP]
You can still specify all of the other parameters – like Jill has to be a paid user, must have access to Product 1, and drip on Day 1. Very cool, even if we say so ourselves
UPDATE on 01/03
UPDATE 1: Coupon Support For Recurring Products
We have now added coupon support for recurring products too. So now you can set a separate discount amount for 1st /Trial payment, and a separate discount amount for Recurring Payments.
UPDATE 2: Post-Dated Product Chaining
This basically extends the existing Product Chaining feature such that you can now set up a product chaining to occur in the "future" (rather than always happen "now", like it was earlier). This gives you the ability to, say, give a member access to a bonus product "X" days after the purchase. You can even use this feature to trigger an automatic move from one product to another after "X" days.
UPDATE 3: Button-level "Return URL"
The "return_url" is now set within the DAP-generated Paypal button. So as long as "Auto Return" is turned "ON" in your Paypal account, it doesn't matter what "Return URL" you enter in that field within your Paypal account. You can enter any generic URL there, in case you are using your Paypal account for multiple web sites.
All of this is part of DAP v4.0 (beta) and LiveLinks v1.5 (beta). Both are available for download now.
If you have already downloaded and installed DAP 4.0, then see this blog post on what you need to do to get these updates.
