    >>Can DAP deliver UNIQUE content for each person? <<

DAP content is at product level not at user level. So if a user purchases a product, then they get access to the content configured under the product based on the content drip settings.

Anything unique to a user will have to be created as a product in DAP.. so a product per user that would have the content specific to them..

We will try to add this feature in future - to deliver unique content per client. But it's not there now.

    Thanks Rob!

BTW, there is another way to do user-specific content in DAP that I totally forgot about.

    See - http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/doc/dap-shortcodes/

    I'll be purchasing DAP immediately!

There needs to be an option in DAP product management to not allow users to access content prior to their signup date for that specific product. There should just be a simply button for this in addition to the dripping. Dripping is not ideal for someone who offers a service where the content is time sensitive. You want your users to have access to the latest material, but not be able to see past months content.

When will this be added? It seems like a very easy add.

    Rob,

If you see the "Member Specific Content" part of DAP Shortcodes, you'll see that you actually don't have to create individual products for the users.

    Here's that section again...

    “For Your Eyes Only”
Let’s say you run a coaching program. You have 10 clients. You want Joe Customer to see a tailor-made custom video meant only for Joe, and Jill Member to see a specific PDF report written specifically for Jill’s business. Now using the new “userId” parameter in the DAP shortcode, you can now protect a piece of content so that only a specific DAP user can see it.

    [DAP userId="144"]protected content[/DAP]

So let's say you sign up a new client, and their User Id is 144. You would create a page specific for them, then within the content part of that page, you would use the shortcode above, and put whatever content you want within the shortcodes (where it says "protected content").

Yes, you will need to create one page per client, but that will do exactly what you want as far as "User Specific Content" goes.

I think the hardest part would be dealing with the absolutely massive load - I'm talking about thousands of users. So I would still have to create a unique product per client.

I think I'll stick to basic email for now. If you ever get that feature, I'm telling you - it would be hot for service mass scale service providers.

You can already do this in DAP.

If you set a content with Start Date of '01-01-2011' and end date of '01-31-2011', then anyone who joins after 01-31 will not be able to access that content.

We call it the "Magazine Model" where you only get content released to you starting from the date you joined - nothing before.

No, that is not true. DAP does offer this already.

DAP has a setting called "Allow access to previously paid for content". If you set that to "Y" (for "yes"), then people who purchased that content in the past CAN very much access it even after it has expired, only because they were a member during that time. Those who became a member after the content expired, will never get access to it.

So what you're asking is actually very much possible.

Not to mention, when you have a subscription with hundreds of protected posts and videos, this becomes very time consuming. A lot of other services offer this, so I am not sure why DAP has not yet.
