Paypal IPN question
Hi!
I'm looking at DAP and is very close to buying a copy but I have a couple of questions.
1. Are there any type of trial (time limited or similar) to allow me to actually install, quick configuration and some test runs before buying?
2. Once ipn is setup according to the documentation. Will it not be notifying DAP when all sales via paypal is done? The 1 hour membership video pointed out the importance of using the exact product name from DAP, so I'm assuming this is the magic that makes everything work. Only exact matches will be handled and the rest will be ignored. But what if one use DAP on several sites?
I do have to say that DAP looks very good so far!

Hi Kenth, I'm sure Veena will be along shortly to answer in full, but I can tell you that you are correct in point 2. DAP keys off the Product "Title", so as long as the Paypal "Item Name" matches the DAP "Product Name" it all just works.
I've just upgraded to 3.9 and did a test purchase with a ClickBank product and the experience with that new "instant notification" functionality is very smooth. I'm well pleased with it.
The only problem I've ever had is trying to use a third party download service (Digital Product Delivery or DPD) and route those sales orders to DAP. In those cases, DAP does not seem to recognize the product name, but I believe this is a problem with the way DPD is encoding the product name is the notify_url parameter.

Kenth,

No trial but we do offer 1-month full money back guarantee if DAP does not work out for you.

DAP uses button level IPN so you can create buttons, set the button 'Item Name' to eXactly match the DAP product name and set the button level IPN to point to the right DAP site (http:///dap/dap-paypal.php) as documented here:
http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/doc...nd-paypal-ipn/
The global IPN (under your Paypal account -> Profile -> Instant Payment Notification Preferences) can point to any one of the DAP sites (http:///dap/dap-paypal.php). It does not matter which one.
The global IPN is ignored by Paypal if the button level IPN in set.
Hope that helps.
