Using Amazon SES in SMTP Server

I want to use my Amazon SES account for the SMTP email.

    1. If I set up the SMTP to use SES, do I deactivate the existing "Local Web Host" setting?

    2. What happens to the cron jobs?

    Thanks!

    Got it...

I tested it out by sending myself the Login/Password email. Nothing came through. Does THAT need to wait until the top of the hour?

When I changed it back, and tested it with the locahost server, it came through immediately.

    I used:

    ssl://email-smtp.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

    "SSL" to "No".
    Port 443

My user ID and password from Amazon SES are in there.

Re: Using Amazon SES in SMTP Server

    Are you using DAP 4.3.1?

If you add a NEW user (that does not already exist in dap manage users page) then the emai should get sent right away (even if you use SES).
The cron job is only used for autoresponder and broadcast emails. It's not used for welcome email.

If it's not getting sent when localhost is disabled and SES is enabled, then maybe you didnot add a NEW user.

    Pls do this:

    1) Set dap setup -> config -> log level to log all activity
    2) Disable localhost and enable SES setting in dap admin -> email -> smtp
    3) Go to dap system -> logs and empty log content
    4) Go to dap admin -> add users page and add a NEW user that does not already exist in dap manage users page
    5) If welcome email does not get sent, pls open a support ticket with us and send us the log snippet from dap system -> logs.

Re: Using Amazon SES in SMTP Server

    Hi,

I have the same issue using DAP latest version 431 + LL 181 with Amazon SES. I did setup everything Veena's saying on those pages:

    1./ http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/for...in-SMTP-Server
    2./ http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/for...=2014#post2014

but nothing is actually being sent out by Dap... It looks like it is all good but no email are actually sent out. To test this, i am using the 'forgot email' script.

Please provide a patch so that i can close this issue rapidly.

    Thanks,

    Ravi fixed it!

It was an issue in DAP with a "+" character in my Amazon SMTP password and that was getting stripped out when entering through the front end.
Now fixed in the database and it works now.
