DAP v4.6.2 (Beta)

Hey Dappers!

DAP v4.6.2 Beta is now available for download!

This release has a few minor fixes for 4.6.1 issues. We are still calling this a BETA release to allow the release to settle down. We will give it about a week, and if there are no reported issues, we will make 4.6.2 FINAL.

BTW, if you have not checked out our new DAPEasyInstaller plugin, you might want to give it a try. It makes new DAP Installations as well as DAP Upgrades really simple and effortless. No more FTP required.

Several DAP users have already used this plugin to great success for both NEW installations of DAP, as well as for UPGRADING existing DAP installations.

And as always, feel free to leave your questions and comments below!

Cheers!

Veena Prashanth and Ravi Jayagopal

  1. I bow down at the feet of Veena and Ravi – you folks do AWESOME work. I’m so grateful for you! I now have two way integration with Infusionsoft because of this latest release and it’s working beautifully. Woohoo!

  2. Please clarify:

In your previous post you wrote “…please hold off on using this plugin to upgrade your current DAP installation, until we release the final version.”

But you wrote above that “Several DAP users have already used this plugin to great success for both NEW installations of DAP, as well as for UPGRADING existing DAP installations.”

Does this mean that it is now safe to use the DAPEasyInstaller plugin to update our existing sites?

BTW, thanks for your help with the DAP=>Infusionsoft integration testing!

    >> Does this mean that it is now safe to use the DAPEasyInstaller plugin to update our existing sites? << Yes, we have tested both new installs and upgrades using this plugin successfully. It is safe to use. Thanks, Veena

  5. Hey guys,

I love that you’re continuously updating and upgrading DAP.

Has this update resolved the ability to update ARPreach subscribers ?

    thanks

  6. Looking forward to using the updated version 4.6.2! I see from your list of updates that you now have a template for the users purchases. Will you be adding more templates in the short-term?

Also, Do you have plans to add wysiwyg to the email template section?
This would be an awesome addition to DAP.

    Keep up the GREAT Work!

    Matt

  7. Upgrading with the DAPEasyInstaller plugin works like a charm.
This is so great… the update is ready and steady in a few secs…

    Great stuff Veena & Ravi,
You know what we need 😉

  8. I’m just waiting for the right moment to crush the 140,000 wishlist members that I have and force them to re-register with DAP… I’m dreading it actually.

  9. Hi Veena

You guys are so good at improving the software, thanks so much!

I’m a little confused though… this update is in Beta, but is DAP v4.6 available for us to install? I’d love to use some of the new features, but I’m waiting for confirmation it’s 100% safe to upgrade.

    Thanks again, love your work.

  10. Hi Abdel,

    >>I love that you’re continuously updating and upgrading DAP. Has this update resolved the ability to update ARPreach subscribers ? << If it's an existing contact / subscriber and the contact moves to a different product/list in dap, then ARPreach does not recognize it as an update action and it does not move the contact to the new list automatically. The request is simply ignored by ARPreach. It looks like the easy fix is to send the 'action' parameter in the HTTP request (via CURL) to ARPreach but to do so DAP needs to know if the contact already exists in ARP and then send the right action parameter (add or update). Can you please check with ARPReach support if they have APIs for 'get contact info' and if they do, please notify us via support ticket. We will fix this integration in DAP 4.7 (3-4 weeks) but we will give you an advance copy of the integration if it works. Thanks, Veena

  11. Hi Matt,

Also, Do you have plans to add wysiwyg to the email template section?
This would be an awesome addition to DAP. << Yes, the DAP Shopping Cart is template based. It currently has 1 template but we plan on adding new responsive template in the next 3 months. If you want to create your own template, see - http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/doc/customize-dap-cart/ You can make simple css updates but if you want to change the entire layout, you will have to hire a php / css developer to do so... or you can wait for our next update where we will have even better template than what we have now :). >>Also, Do you have plans to add wysiwyg to the email template section?
This would be an awesome addition to DAP. << Yes, agreed. This is also on our list to do for DAP. Thanks, Veena

  12. Hi Graeme,

I’d love to use some of the new features, but I’m waiting for confirmation it’s 100% safe to upgrade. << We are still calling 4.6.2 beta as it has a few minor bug fixes from 4.6.1. We will give it a week and if there are no major issues, we will make it final. We believe the release is very stable but if you want to be 100% safe, please wait until 4.6.2 turns FINAL. If you decide to upgrade and end up with any issues, we are here to help resolve it quickly. Thanks, Veena

  15. I am thinking of installing and using Comments with Credits but I see you have an upgrade to 4.6.2 and I wonder if I should upgrade to 4.6.2 first or second or use the new installer.

  16. Hi Stephen,

You can use the easy installer to upgrade to 4.6.2.

The CWC plugin is not dependent on DAP 4.6.2.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  17. Hi Ravi & Veena,

I am also using arpReach and looking forward to your update for DAP’s integration with arpReach. When you have a beta for your next version (that includes the arpReach update), please notify me. Thank you.

    Peter

  18. Ravi & Veena,

This new update is terrific. I’ve updated on two live sites, both using he Installer plug-in. Simple and easy. And it worked.

More importantly – The new PDF receipts is working brilliantly! It took some troubleshooting to figure out to use the path to the DAP install as revealed by the DAP Installer plug-in and append the Logo image path to that initial file path. Once I did that, PDF generation is terrific!

Once a day I get a new member asking for a receipt for tax purposes. It’s been annoying me for two years that I have to go to PayPal to do that (and even then I’m using their Shipping receipt as a proxy). Today for the first time I was able to direct a member to the the Account Settings page – relieved that one chore is now eliminated from my daily workflow.

    Thanks!

  19. Patrick,

Great to know that you were able to use the new ‘invoice’ (pdf generation) feature successfully!
    http://www.digitalaccesspass.com/doc/dapshowtransactions/

You can create a page in WP using this shortcode and redirect users to this page post purchase.

In an upcoming release, we will add the ability to include the invoice number in the welcome email as well.

Yes, the logo image path needs to be set correctly in the shortcode. I will update the documentation so there is no confusion.

And thanks for the update on DAPEasyInstaller:

  20. Veena,

Great idea, putting that short code on the post-purchase page… that way those who want it don’t have to hunt for it.

And doubling down by having a link to the PDF in the Welcome Email is also a great idea.

Thanks. Keep up the good work.

  21. It looks like it has been over a week since this DAP v4.6.2 (Beta) was released. Are you ready to make it FINAL yet? I am looking forward to updating my site. Thanks.

  22. Hi Marc,

The 4.6.2 release is stable. We did not have to make any bug fixes since it’s release last week.

Look for an email from us either tonight or over the weekend making it FINAL.

    PLEASE NOTE:

In this release (4.6.*) , we have added a NEW power feature – “Admin facing refund/cancel option”.

When you go to DAP Payments->Orders page, and click on the ‘transaction Id’ hyperlink of a successful Paypal Subscription order, you will now notice a ‘Refund’ button in addition to the Cancel button. If you click on refund, DAP will automatically refund payment in Paypal. You no longer have to login to Paypal to refund payment.

The REFUND option is available only for Paypal Subscriptions.
The CANCEL button can handle both Paypal + Authorize.net subscription cancellations.

The important thing to note is this feature is enabled by default in 4.6. If you want to disable this feature, then simply add this to /dap/dap-config.php after the php start tag:

    define(‘ENABLE_ADMIN_REFUND_CANCEL’,’N’);

If you need our help to do this, please open a support ticket with us and we will take care of it.

    Thanks,
    Veena
