{"id":5861,"date":"2019-11-14T09:40:17","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T17:40:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.digitalaccesspass.com\/blog\/?p=5861"},"modified":"2019-11-14T12:27:04","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T20:27:04","slug":"automated-upgrades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.digitalaccesspass.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/automated-upgrades\/","title":{"rendered":"Automated Upgrades"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Automated Subscription Upgrades<\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>DAP Can Now Automatically Cancel Subscription In Your Payment Processor When Your Users Upgrade To A Higher Level Membership!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you sell subscription products, the good news is&#8230; now DAP can automatically cancel your member&#8217;s lower level subscription from your payment processor when they upgrade to a higher-level subscription.<strong>DAP can do this with Paypal, Stripe and Authorize.net.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please NOTE:<\/strong>&nbsp; This feature will ONLY work if you use <a href=\"https:\/\/SmartPayCart.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>SmartPayCart.com (SPC)<\/strong><\/a> as your shopping cart platform! Here are a few scenarios where this feature will make things really easy for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><strong>Sales Funnel Upsell Flow:<\/strong> if you offer subscription upgrade as an upsell, you can configure DAP to automatically cancel user&#8217;s current subscription when they upgrade.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><strong>Member Upgrade:<\/strong> If you offer upgrades in your members area, now your users can easily upgrade without you having to manually cancel their current subscription in the payment processor. DAP will automatically cancel their subscription in the payment processor and remove their access to the lower-level subscription.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Here&#8217;s how it works:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>STEP 1: Set up a product chaining Rule in DAP Admin &gt;&gt; Products &gt;&gt; Product Chaining page. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The product chaining rules allow DAP to remove user&#8217;s access to lower-level subscription (say silver) when they upgrade to a higher-level subscription (say gold).<\/p>\n<p><span><img alt=\"\" src=\"\/\/www.digitalaccesspass.com\/images\/removerule.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP 2: When you setup a chaining rule (as shown in image above), it will open up a new section titled &#8220;Upgrade Options&#8221;. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Set it to YES if you want to automate your subscription upgrades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please NOTE:<\/strong> This feature will ONLY work for SPC-initiated subscription purchases. Only set this to YES if you use SPC to sell your subscriptions.<\/p>\n<p><span><img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/digitalaccesspass.com\/images\/upgrade.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP 3: &nbsp;Test to make sure everything is working as expected!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After you setup a chaining rule for automated upgrades, it&#8217;s time to test.<\/p>\n<p>1. Purchase a lower level subscription- say silver level.<\/p>\n<p>2. Now using the same email id, purchase a higher level subscription, say gold level.<\/p>\n<p>3.
