June 12, 2015 by Veena Prashanth 16 Comments

Hey Dappers!

We are thrilled to announce the new BETA release of DAP v4.9 (no change to LiveLinks v1.12).

We have been working on ways to improve your DAP experience with an easier-to-use and more intuitive DAP Admin Dashboard layout, along with improved accessibility and better representation of membership data.

We are excited to introduce the new DAP Admin Home page that now includes graphs & charts for a great visual snapshot of your entire membership site’s stats.

Installation/Upgrade

1. Existing DAP Users (Upgrade)

To use the new DAP Admin Reports, you will have to upgrade to the new DAP v4.9 BETA & LiveLinks v1.12.

Download DAP v4.9 and LiveLinks v1.12 zip files from your members’ area on our site.

If you are already on DAP v4.8.1, then you already have LiveLinks v1.12. So no need to upgrade LiveLinks. Just upgrade DAP to 4.9.

a) You can use the DAP Easy Installer plugin to upgrade DAP to v4.9 and LiveLinks to v1.12.

-OR-

b) You can use FTP to upload the files. To upgrade it via FTP:

=> Download LiveLinks v1.12 zip file from the members’ area on our site, unzip it and upload it to the WP plugins folder on your site (/wp-content/plugins) overwriting the existing DAP-WP-LiveLinks folder.

=> Download DAP v4.9 zip file from the members’ area on our site, unzip it and upload it to the root folder on your site overwriting the existing contents of “dap” folder.

After uploading the files, log in to the DAP admin dashboard to complete the upgrade.

Hi Veena – LOVE the new admin Home page!!!
    The reporting looks top notch.

Would love to be able to have a predefined reporting period for “month-to-date” and to be able to set that as my default – would that be doable?

Does DAP have (or are you planning on adding) specific “1-click” reporting for specific membership key indicators, like lifetime customer value and average retention rate per reporting period?

Can’t wait for the next beta update!!!
    Steve

    Boom! Another value-packed update. 🙂

I’ve had clients request analytics a million times for DAP, and here it is.

Two analytics features that I’ve heard requested repeatedly are:

    1. Customer Lifetime Value (which helps with paid traffic decision)

    2. Projected sales (per product and overall)

Awesome job Veena and Ravi, you guys are absolutely the best in the business and it’s a pleasure working with you and DAP.

    Hi Steve & Vic,

    >> Does DAP have (or are you planning on adding) specific “1-click” reporting for specific membership key indicators, like lifetime customer value and average retention rate per reporting period? < < Thanks for your valuable feedback! I hear you and I totally agree with you. The customer lifetime value (CLV), average order value (AOV) and average retention time metrics will allow you to make educated decision on customer acquisition and retention investment. We understand the importance and we will certainly add these metrics to our reporting. We have made several updates to the reporting UI and the code base that supports the new UI. We will wait for it to settle down and make sure there are no bugs etc. After that, we will add these metrics to the reporting. BTW, we are currently working on DAP Admin => Manage Users UI to make it more intuitive, attractive, and we are also adding new Advanced Search/Sort/Import/Export feature. If you have suggestions for Manage Users improvement, please leave us a comment here.

    Thanks for supporting DAP!

    Veena

Really nice work guys! I’m excited for the LCV update too. Especially if you can get data like “average lifetime customer value” for x product (if it’s a subscription).

    Cheers

Since this is Beta, would you recommend holding off on live sites? Or, is this only backend changes and relatively safe to upgrade?

    Hi Matt,

It is relatively safe to upgrade because:
    1) We have done a lot of testing and we do not expect any major issues.
    2) Even if there are issues, it will only affect DAP Admin Report Page, It will not affect the users.

If it’s a busy site, my recommendation would be to wait until the release is final.
Otherwise you can upgrade and if there are issues, please open a support ticket and we will try to resolve it quickly.

    Thanks,
    Veena

    Looks GREAT!

Have you dropped a WYSIWYG HTML email editor in yet? Like maybe the TinyEditor from WordPress?

    Thanks for a great product.

    Hi Robert,

    >>Looks GREAT!< < Thanks! >>Have you dropped a WYSIWYG HTML email editor in yet? Like maybe the TinyEditor from WordPress? << Not yet. It will be included in DAP 5.0. Thanks, Veena

I simply cannot say enough about this improvement. If this update was any indication of what is to come in the future, then your competition better raise their standards to a whole new level. The reporting interface is so clean and easy to navigate. Very nice –well done!

The only thing (and this is NOT a must-have feature by any stretch) would be the ability to drag-n-drop to re-sort the reports. But hey, I like it (a lot) and can’t wait to see what happens with DAP 5.0! Congratulations to you both.

Thanks Dave :). Appreciate your kind words. Can’t wait to release the new DAP Admin => Users interface. If you like the new admin report, you are going to love the new users interface :).

    Thanks,
    Veena
