  1. Hi Veena. Thanks for the video overview. I love the new interface and the fact that you are making DAP a lot more intuitive and easy to use. Thanks for the consistent updates and improvements to the software. 🙂

  2. Nice! Thank you Veena and Ravi. Those new features are going to be great.

Are there any plans for a Custom Field option in Products and the ability to set all drop downs to alpha sort in a future release?

Many thanks DAP – thankful for the constant improvements…

  3. Bravo!!! Great update! Congratulations, as always 🙂

Excellent improvements! It would be great if custom fields can be set as a selection field (not only text fields) in order to be able to send emails segmented by the answer given (i mean, option selected) in a custom field. Or at least pass the info of the custom fields to the email marketing platform integrated (mailchimp, aweber…). The custom info os members can be extremelly usefull for hiper segmented emails.

Thanks another time for all your continuous effords and amazing results.

    DAP is a game changer!!!

  4. I really like that it looks like you’ve added search for members with active access to certain products, this is a feature I’ve really wanted for a long time, great job.

  5. Hi Antonio,

If you have a LIVE website with active subscriptions and members, then hold off on installing DAP 5.0 BETA until we release the FINAL version in about 4-6 weeks.

If the site is not live yet, we certainly recommend that you use DAP 5.0 (beta). If you find any issues with it, you could open a support ticket and we’ll try to resolve it quickly.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  6. >> I really like that it looks like you’ve added search for members with active access to certain products, this is a feature I’ve really wanted for a long time, great job. << Thanks Bob :).

  7. Thanks Jordi for your feedback.

We’ll be making 2 more updates to the custom fields:

    1. We’ll allow different types of custom fields (instead of just text-based fields).

    2. We’ll also be releasing a new mobile-responsive version of DAP “My Profile” shortcode. Currently the [DAPUserProfile] shortcode has an option called ‘showCustomFields’. If it’s set to “Y”, it’ll show all the custom fields. In the new version (that we’ll release in about 2 weeks from now), you can specify the custom fields that you want to display on the user profile page. So instead of displaying everything, you can narrow down the list to the fields you want displayed.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  8. Hi Angelo,

Yes, we’ll be updating the DAP admin => products page next. BTW, you can sort by ‘product name’ currently.

    See – http://screencast.com/t/ESbTGnnegD

But yes, we’ll add the product sort (based on name, id etc) to other pages as well.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  9. It’s the Product Management and Autoresponders pages that I have wanted updated for years. We can’t read long product names (for example). Nothing new there? Bummer.

  10. Thanks Veena – yes I use that sort feature constantly. It’s the drop downs that kill me! Congrats on the new version – looks awesome…

  11. AMAZING UPDATE AS ALWAYS! So many big improvements on this update. I’m very thankful for this great software you’ve developed. Keep rockin DAP Team!!!

  12. Hi John,

Thanks for your feedback. We’ll be updating both DAP products page as well as the DAP Email Autoresponder to deal with the long product name (and sorting) issues.

We’re also excited about the whole email tracking/reporting feature that we’ll be adding to DAP!

    More to come soon :).

    Thanks,
    Veena

  13. Nice admin updates.

In future updates it would be really nice to see responsive forms and member pages that clients see.

Also would be nice to be able to edit the dap code… currently you have it encrypted and can’t customize anything.

  14. Congratulations on that update Veena!

I like the new user export option. As well as the new email broadcast options. Awesome.

    Keep up the good work,

    Etienne

  15. Hi Veena,

After working with the new DAP v5.0 in Beta, I must say, that working within the upgraded layout is wildly more efficient. Moving through the tabs and software is much easier. I am still testing the autoresponder, but on the surface, I am pleased to see an HTML option which now allows me to edit HTML code for more graphics in the autoresponder. This is HUGE!

Amazingly, there are no major bugs or issues at this point. I was confident in allowing for the installation on our live site, and I see no problems that interfere with the site in any way.

This will be a real game changer for our members, affiliates and admin colleagues. The overall experience has been immensely upgraded. Great work Veena and Ravi!

    To your continued success!

    Philip

  16. Veena,

Thought I’d let folks know I was able to beta test DAP 5.0, and besides being absolutely beautiful cosmetically, things are easier to handle, and I have yet to hit any bumps systemwise!

    A big congrats.

  17. Hi David, yes, certainly. We’ll continue to improve analytics / reporting in the coming releases. Please feel free to send us a list of things that you would like DAP to track and report.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  18. AMAZING UPDATE AS ALWAYS! So many big improvements on this update. I’m very thankful for this great software you’ve developed. Keep rockin DAP Team!!!

    Thanks Pat 🙂

  19. Hi Derek,

Nice admin updates. In future updates it would be really nice to see responsive forms and member pages that clients see. Also would be nice to be able to edit the dap code… currently you have it encrypted and can’t customize anything.

Thanks Derek! A lot of DAP code is already open. We cannot open all of DAP code but we’ll continue to add more customization options (without requiring core file edits). We’ve already released many responsive forms (my content page, login page, shopping cart etc). We’ll be releasing more member-facing responsive forms in 2 weeks from now (user profile, member-facing cancellation page, invoice page, affiliate details page etc).

    Thanks,
    Veena

Thank you Philip for taking the time to not just install and test DAP 5.0 so quickly but also sharing your valuable and detailed feedback. It’s so cool to have you as a member of the DAP family :).

  24. Veena,
It’s great to have a mature DAP system with features like the job queue for long running processes. Great update for our user experience and enhanced control of the site.

So far, I’ve just watched your video but will be installing DAP 5. on a new live site shortly. The only feedback I have so far:

#1. The new HTML email broadcast editor should have a “template” feature to enable re-using a previous design and to copy-and-edit to create a new broadcast.

#2. Are you planning on improved custom fields for products?

    Thank you.

  25. Hi Veena,

As I’ve said before, your ongoing support and care for your customers is second to none.

Not only does your tenacity and patience with people tell me a lot about you, it’s just nice to know that there are good people in the world doing what they do not for money, but because they want to make a difference to people’s lives.

Well done and keep up the excellent work!

    Warmest Regards

  26. Nice job – it looks much better and cleaner. Very impressed with the continual improvements you make to DAP.

    Thanks Spence :).

    Thanks Peter :).

    1. Yes, I agree. It’s already on our to-do list.

    2. Currently the custom fields are at “user” level and not at “product” level. This is the second request today for custom fields at product level. We’ve now added it to our to-do list for DAP.

    Thanks,
    Veena

This means a lot to me, Rick :). It’s really very kind of you to say this. We’re truly grateful to have customers like you in the DAP family.

    Thanks,
    Veena

  29. DAP has always been a great product…and you always find ways to make it greater. I feel lucky to be along for the ride! A sincere thank you for continuosly providing solutions to help our business grow.

  31. “Hi David, yes, certainly. We’ll continue to improve analytics / reporting in the coming releases. Please feel free to send us a list of things that you would like DAP to track and report.”

    Veena,

Here is a brain dump of some of what I’d love to be considered for inclusion in analytics and reporting:

    1. Total number of members (current reporting isn’t always accurate)
    2. Number of paying/active members (current reporting isn’t always accurate)
    3. New members each day/week/month
    4. Cancelled members each day/week/month (or churn rate)
    5. Average lifetime value
    6. Average length of membership
    7. Failed transactions
    8. Drill down to the member level on reports

  32. Here is a brain dump of some of what I’d love to be considered for inclusion in analytics and reporting…

Thanks for your feedback, David! Good stuff. Your list aligns with ours for improved tracking/reporting feature in DAP. We’ll keep you posted.

    Veena

  33. Hi Veena and Ravi! Awesome that DAP 5.0 is out. Been waiting for this one since your sneak peak.

It would be nice to be able to access a list of domains that I have DAP uploaded onto. I manage several domains and I’ll retire the ones that I find not profitable. A quick way to view them and remove them from the DAP list (self serve) would be nice. Currently I have to email you guys and ask for a list of domains linked to my DAP license.

Can’t wait for DAP 5 to be out of beta.

    V.

  34. Hi V,
Thanks for your feedback. We’ll look into supporting this in a future DAP release.

We just released DAP 5.0.1 / LL 2.0.1. It has a few 5.0 bug fixes. No major issues reported by 5.0 users so far. If things continue to go well, we’ll be able to make 5.0.x final sooner than later.

    -Veena

  35. Well done Ravi and Veena. It looks very good – I think the functionality improvements will be profound.

I see Zapier is on the list too – in the next few months (he asked hopefully)? And email tracking too – wow….

    Keep up the great work

  36. Hi Dappers!

Just wanted you to know that we’ve tested DAP 5.0.1 / LL 2.0.1 (BETA) with PHP 7.0.5.

The good news is… it’s working well :).

    Please NOTE:

    1) PHP Version 7.0.5 was released on Apr 4, 2016.

    2) You need to be on DAP 5.0.1 / LL 2.0.1 to use PHP 7.x.

    3) DAP 5.0.1 / LL 2.0.1 (BETA) is now available for download. It’s still in BETA so if it’s a live site, please do NOT upgrade yet. We’ll let you know when the release is FINAL.

    Thanks,
    Veena
