When someone visits our DAP site for the first time, I want to know HOW they found us! Did someone recommend DAP? Was it through a google search? Did they hear about it on social?
When new customers purchase DAP, I'm curious to find out why they picked DAP over other options.
If they leave without buying, I want to know the reason they left! Did they not find the information they were looking for? Was it the price point? Were they looking for a specific feature?
This information is so vital for the growth any online business.

A Smart Survey Funnel
A simple survey with a few multiple choice questions and a couple of open-ended questions will help you easily collect this information from your users - whether they are first time visitors or long time customers.
The data you collect will help you understand what marketing efforts are working well, what is driving traffic to your site and what areas could use some improvement. In addition, this type of survey will tell you why they chose you product over your competitors.
The key is to ask relevant questions as it'll increase the likelihood of your visitors participating and sharing their thoughts. Instead of asking everyone the same questions, create a survey funnel!
Ask questions based on answers.
Let's say you have added a survey where you start with this question:
How did you find out about us?
-> Google Search
-> Comparison Site
-> Social Media
Now ask relevant follow-up questions based on response.
Say the response is "Review Site", next question, "Can you tell us which one?". If the response is "Google Search", next question, "Can you tell us what you searched for that led you here?". If the response is "Other", next question, "Can you please elaborate?".
This will improve the accuracy of your survey and give you valuable insights that in turn will help you improve your marketing efforts.

Explain the Reason
People are not going to spend a lot of time doing something that does not directly benefit them. If you ask too many questions, they will simply abandon the survey.
You don't want your prospects or customers to feel frustrated and wonder why they should be spending time giving you all of this information.
To increase participation, clearly outline why you are collecting this information. It's important to let your participants know they are playing a huge part in helping you make your product better and their feedback is very valuable to you.
One more thing you can do is allow respondents to skip open-ended questions. This way if they don't want to answer a specific question, instead of abandoning the survey, they can skip that question and move to the next one.
Get In-The-Moment Feedback
The key is to ask questions at the right moment!
For e.g., there is a good chance our prospects would remember what google search brought them to our DAP site if we asked that question on the main landing page (or on the thank you page after they signup) rather than weeks or months later when they might not remember the details.
If you want your site visitors to give you in-the-moment feedback, whether it's about how they found you, your page design, a specific feature, your blog post or overall experience, there's no better way to do this than a non-intrusive popover survey.
You can use SmartQuizBuilder (SQB) to create a popup quiz or survey, add your questions, add prospect info to your email platform, and configure SQB to send you all the details in an email!
